The point of this blog is the following:
1) There is no such thing as "sexual privilege".
2) Cisgender hetero* people are not queer, whether or not they are asexual.
3) "Demisexuality" is a bullshit "orientation" that is nothing more than thinly-veiled slut-shaming.
I don’t believe there is such a thing as asexual privilege. This blog’s name (and the “Asexual privilege checklist”) are a tongue-in-cheek response to the “Sexual Privilege” checklist. I know no one is going to actually acknowledge that I said this — I’ve said it a million times before after all — but it’s worth a shot.
About the blogger
I’m a very angry queer person who is tired of the following things:
- Cisgender straight people calling themselves queer;
- The idea that “only being attracted to someone who you’re in a relationship with” is subversive;
- The idea that queer sexuals are somehow privileged over straight asexuals.
Some facts about me:
- I’m pansexual, not demisexual, even though I have no sexual interest in people I’m not in relationships with.
- I do not think this makes me better than anyone else.
- I’m a MAAB genderfluid androgyne who prefers to be called “ey/em/eir”.
